A recent post at a website I frequent asked the question, "what is your your top ten favorite books of all-time?" It got me to thinking what my favorites would be. And what makes something a favorite, rather than just an enjoyable one-time read?
So here're my favorites (in no particular order--definately subject to change):
Pride and Prejudiceby Jane Austen
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
The Complete Works of Shakespeare (my personal favorites being Much Ado about Nothing and The Taming of the Shrew)
Persuasion by Jane Austen
Beauty or The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley
The Mrs. Pollifax series by Dorothy Gilman
Adopted Jane - Helen F. Daringer
Love Lights the Way - Michele Ashman Bell
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
If you'd like to submit your top ten favorite list to be posted at this website, please email heather_reader at hotmail.com (do of course remove the spaces and use the @ sign instead of "at"--this is to prevent massive spam from entering my inbox!). Note: this is a family-friendly site, so please submit only books that fit that critera.
